The First Week

So we are going to stick around. Just a little less often and with a new twist.

See, this year will have Marie traveling a lot. And as for Sarah, well, she is just turning her life upside down and tying the knot.

So here’s the deal – – this year we are going to embark on a fifty-two week project. Each week (Wednesday morning) we will give each other a topic/theme/word/inspiration/whatev and then each of us will have one week to capture that said goal using only our camera (no iPhones this time for a bit of a challenge). The picture has to be posted by midnight on Tuesday night each week.

And that is why we are calling it The Cinderella Project.

So there it is. Our goal is that this new project will be a little less work but still as much fun. And still a project for us to work together on. Who knows, maybe 2014 will be the year we do a daily picture again.

But for now? 2013. Fifty-two weeks. The Cinderella Project.

Thanks for coming along!

Week One: A New Year

“Yup, I am in the middle of the road. I really wanted a picture of these lights. These lights have cheered me up and reminded me that I can celebrate Christmas anywhere. And these lights also remind me that 2013 is going to be awesome. I don’t really know what 2013 is going to hold. I know we will be spending quite a bit of time in the USofA. I know we will be continuing to learn and speak Romanian. I know that our ministry opportunities will be growing and developing even more. But besides that? All I know is that 2013 is going to be fun. And exciting. And busy. And crazy. And cool.”

Week Two: Happiness. Or just Happy.

Starting with week three, we are going to give each other the next theme at the end of the current post. It should get creative and fun because Marie won’t know what Sarah’s theme for her is and Sarah won’t know what Marie’s theme for her is either.

Don’t worry if it doesn’t make sense.

November Eleventh

“Beautiful birthday eve flowers from my amazing husband – – although he did get reprimanded when he tried to buy two yellow, two pink and two red, aka six {symbolizing death not life} so I ended up with three yellows, three pinks AND three yellows, aka nine!”

“Soooo….let’s just say a certain someone pranked another certain someone in honor of a another certain someone’s birthday! Haha…the best, I still have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.”

{ps-a specific someone might try to convince you that it is her birthday today…it is not…even though it is tomorrow today, here today is still today….so it’s not tomorrow until tomorrow. And then it will be that someone’s birthday.}

Just saying…

April Fourth

“Okay so this is actually my mug cozy that Sarah made me, but I kind of like to see it all day long so I keep it on my utensil jar. I like to look at it when I am cooking dinner or doing the dishes.”

“Bought ric rac in as many colors as possible today! Marie would be proud.”

February Ninteenth

“I have discovered that Saturday evening to Sunday morning is the hardest for me. I find myself missing SoCal lazy Sunday afternoons and NorCal Sunday Chinese food. This is my little study area where I find myself a lot during the weekend when I need to stay busy.”

February Fourth

Well today finally came…the day neither of us wanted to come. Somehow we thought it wouldn’t come as long as we didn’t think about it. But the truth is that Sarah is somewhere close to Odessa, Ukraine and will fly out early tomorrow morning (CET) and Marie is in Chișinau, Moldova furiously cleaning the house as a coping mechanism. It was a pretty rough goodbye and filled with rivers of tears yet we know we are both where we are supposed to be. Perhaps you could say the “real” blog begins because now we are doing what we created this blog to do – – each take a picture while living in different countries and then put them together, somehow bringing us just a little closer. Our pictures may seem a little melancholy at first, but bear with us…we will get better at this! And hope with us that December might see us in the same country to end this blog!
